The Ezra NETWORK AT Hamakom

Hamakom has made a commitment to help our community members in need. We offer emotional support, legal and vocational resources through the Ezra Network. The Ezra Network is an initiative of The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles in partnership with Jewish Family Service, Bet Tzedek Legal Services and JVS SoCal to provide social services at no cost to those needing help in the Jewish community, www.JewishLA.org/Ezra.

If you’re facing economic problems or need support for yourself or someone in your family, you’re not alone. At Hamakom, you can get help with government program eligibility, access to one-on-one sessions with a social worker, legal counselor or job counselor, referrals for other services and programs and financial assistance.

Contact one of our Ezra Network professionals for a virtual meeting:

Social Worker: Jennifer Jacobs (Direct Phone Line): 323-829-5310 or jjacobs@jfsla.org
Job Counselor: Giselle Hartman, ghartman@jvs-socal.org, 310-622-3844

BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT GROUP NOW FORMING

Grieving the loss of a loved one is one of life’s most profound challenges. In Judaism, the grief process is supported by meaningful rituals, from shiva and shloshim to annual yahrzeits, offering structure and community at every stage of mourning.

Hamakom is here to extend that support with our new Bereavement Support Group. Led by licensed social workers, this group provides a compassionate space for reflection, connection, and healing through the lens of Jewish values and practices. Together, we will explore the journey of grief while finding comfort in shared experiences.

  •
  • Start Date: January 2025
  • Time: Mondays at 3:00 PM

Whether you are early in the mourning process or have been carrying your grief for some time, you are welcome to join. For more information or to register, please email Rabbi Mendelson at rabbimendelson@hamakomla.org.
