JEWISH TEEN LEARNING CENTER (JTLC)

HAMAKOM is excited to partner with JTeenLearning to provide our community with a meaningful and accessible post-Bar and Bat Mitzvah program. Participation in the JTLC will enable students to continue their Jewish education, while deepening their identity, cultivating their leadership, and facilitating connections between like-minded teens in the community.

We invite Jewish teens (8th-12th grade) throughout the San Fernando and Conejo Valley to meet on Sundays (10am-12:30pm) once a month during the school-year for unique learning and advocacy training. Sessions start in October and will feature diverse guest speakers, roundtable discussions on contemporary issues, community service credit, and a dynamic social environment.

The following topics will be explored:

Session 1- November 19, 2023: Identity & Peoplehood
Session 2- December 10, 2023: History of Jewish Life in America (Skirball Field Trip)
Session 3- January 28, 2024: Jewish Ethics
Session 4- February 25, 2024: Relationships, Love and Dating from a Jewish Perspective
