WEST VALLEY JEWISH FILM SOCIETY

For October, our "Movie of the Month" is the miniseries "Daniel Deronda" (2002).

"Gwendolen Harleth falls in love with the idealistic Daniel Deronda, but they couldn't be more different. When Gwendolen is forced into an oppressive marriage, Daniel becomes involved with a Jewish singer. Torn between the two women, Daniel embarks on a quest to discover his true identity."
Considered the Jewish “Pride and Prejudice” & based on the novel by George Eliot this four-part streaming series features identity, class, spirituality, and the emergence of Zionism in the mid-nineteenth century.

Just like any book club, West Valley Jewish Film Society will have a month to watch a selected film, and then on the third Thursday every month, we will get together (whether on Zoom or in person) to review the film and discuss our thoughts on it. You can visit our website here.

This month our format will be entirely online!

Please watch Daniel Deronda at your convenience, and on October 19th at 7:00pm we will meet on Zoom to discuss the film.

If you have comments or questions that you would like to include in our film discussion on October 19th, please email them to Rabbi David Mendelson at rabbimendelson@hamakomla.org.

IMPORTANT: If you want the Zoom link please scroll below to register for the October 19th event or for the whole WVJFS series!!!
