Rabbi Kevin Peters
Kevin Peters was ordained as a rabbi from the Jewish Theological Seminary (JTS). He also earned a Masters degree in Jewish Education in 2019 from the Davidson School at JTS. Kevin graduated with honors from CUNY, College of Staten Island with a BA in Psychology. Kevin came to JTS after working over 7 years the field of developmental disabilities. As someone with dyslexia and ADD, Kevin is interested in working to make Jewish communal and educational environments more inclusive and sensitive to the needs of all individuals. As a seminary student, he was one of the co-leaders responsible for JTS’s participation in NYC’s Pride March and was a leading member of Keshet JTS, the LGBTQ student group at JTS. 

Currently, Rabbi Peters is a resident chaplain at Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles (CHLA). He supports patients from all faith backgrounds, as well as helps co-lead CHLA’s employee Jewish affinity group, L’chayim. Kevin is a native New Yorker who has found southern California’s winters a much welcomed change.
